Happy 4th of July

I probably feel a little different about the fourth of July than most of you do. As you already know Ryan works for TNT Fireworks and this is their busy season! Busy is an understatement. This year that has meant many 18 hour days back to back to back for Ryan. Things have been crazy for him since early May and we're missing him terribly. Ryan got home at 2:15am this morning, slept for a little while and is gone again, but he did get in a few tackle hugs with Chrish. The fourth of July for most people means time spent with family but today I'm going to be pulling single parent duty again. I would love to be able to go to the parade or fireworks as a family, but that's not realistic for us. Last year wasn't so bad because Amy lived here and my parents came to town too. But this year it will just be the three of us, but we have big plans anyway. In fact I should probably be rubbing sunscreen on little shoulders right now! And wait til you see McKenna's outfit. SO cute, the only problem I've run into is the fact that we only have pink shoes. Every pair of shoes she owns has pink in them and that doesn't really go with red, white and blue.
If you are going to buy some fireworks this season, make sure they're TNT ones (if you have the choice). TNT is an amazing company to work for. They are truly a family company and I can't share specific details but I know of two TNT employees who have faced horrid medical struggles in the last two year and TNT has not waivered and has taken care of them in the most amazing way. One TNT employee is now with the Lord and I know for a fact that his widow will never have to worry about anything. We feel honored to be a part of the TNT family. This time of year is always a little rough, but the rest of the year makes up for it! Ryan LOVES his job (gets stressed out, annoyed with certain situations and people...but he doesn't want to do anything else).
Last year!

Checking out the 2008 parade!

Call me next year...you can definitely come to the festivities with us. I didn't realize you were alone today. Wasn't it a little crazy at the jubilee day? Fun, but crazy!

Hope you enjoyed the fourth.

P.S. Ellie wore pink shoes with her red dress, too!

we were SO excited to finally get to do some of our own fireworks this year - they were illegal in VA beach. We LOVED it - and talked about Ryan of course!!!
