Polar Express Day

Every now and then this is the smile McKenna gives me. It's her "morning smile," the one she uses when she really is happy but she's still sleepy.
McKenna got to have pj day at school, so I gave her her Christmas Eve pjs early! Are to they cute?! McKenna was a little disappointed that a real train didn't come to her school, but she had fun anyway!

Exhibit B of her "morning smile."

Christmas Sing A-Long at the Primary School

Every year the primary school has a sing-a-long. Christian never wanted me to go, but this year there's a new girl in town and she couldn't wait for me to come to she "show."

It's not really a show at all & parents aren't actually invited, but McKennas teacher let me come!

She did a great job singing Jingle Bells!
Christian told me he wasn't going to sing if I came to the program. He got over it And actually acted like he was happy to see me!
Merry Christmas!

Y'all Can Feel Sorry for ME!

My kids have never "BELIEVED" in Santa. We play Santa and read books about him and watch movies about him. Last year I set up a Santa trap on Christmas Eve to make sure the kids didn't come downstairs. We leave him cookies and give his reindeer carrots, but my kids know it's a game. They know it's a game that some kids think is real and we are careful to play along with their game! But whenever my kids ask me for the truth, they get the truth. This is just how we've chosen to handle Santa. It's not the right way for everyone, but I definitely feel very convicted about making sure my kids' belief and faith is in Jesus Christ alone....not the Easter bunny or the tooth fairy or Santa.
Whenever people find out that my kids don't BELIEVE in Santa, they always feel sorry for them. That's fine and I recognize that Santa holds a certain magic in most people's lives.
Well, the other day Will and I were in Target and he was screaming his head off because it was way past nap time and he wasn't getting what he wanted. This lady walked up to him and whispered to him, "You better stop crying. Santa is watching you." Will immediately stopped crying and started looking around to see where Santa was.
And it occurred to me....all these years people have been feeling sorry for my kids, when really they should have been feeling sorry for me!!! I can never play the Santa card, I can never threaten coal in their stocking, I can never tell them that Santa is going to check his list twice to see if they've been good or bad. There's no elf on the shelf spying on my kids. Dang it! I'm missing out on all the fun!

Gingerbread House

Grandmom was babysitting the kids one day and they made our annual Gingerbread House. It's gone now...eaten by two munchkins who love candy. It's always a fun tradition. They did a pretty good job this year.

Kisses!!!

Will has been so sweet the last 2 weeks. He's constantly kissing and hugging me! He also loves to snuggle up with a stack of books! I don't mind one bit.

Drama Queen

Way too much drama tonight over a loose tooth. In the end, she conquered her fear and pulled it out herself!!

It's the Most Wonderful time of the Year

Every day...

Every single day.... She's excited to go to school! And she's still happy at the end of the day when she gets off the bus. She brings me so much JOY!

We're Done

All 3 kiddos have already been sick this fall, so we are officially done being sick this winter! I'm hoping that we got it out of the way early so that we can just be healthy for the next few months!!! I will say, it's so nice to have older kids who (for the most part) cooperate & take their medicine!

Playing Trains with Mommy

Snuggle Bug

He loves his daddy and his mommy! It's going to be a sad, sad day when I can't hold him like this anymore.

Reynolds Farm 2013

One of our favorite traditions is heading to a local farm to celebrate Fall. We drink apple cider and go on the giant slide. Mark my words...I'll never go in another corn maze again. That's a frustrating hour of my life that I can never get back. I think Christian liked it, but he was the only one! Our favorite thing was the corn shooter. Even Will gave it a try.
