A day at the "beach"

We did go to "the beach" this past weekend.

Doesn't it look like fun??

Wait a minute....what are those trees doing in the background? Okay, so we didn't go to the real beach. We just went to "our beach" that's what the kids call this gorgeous lake up in the mountains. We are definitely going to have to make sure they go to the real beach this summer, lest they actually begin to believe that this is really a beach.
Ryan had to work yesterday, of course, but he snuck away for two hours to join us at "the beach" and it was a good thing. I was not prepared for the fact that McKenna would have NO FEAR. I could hardly keep track of her and we most certainly cannot let her little ears go under water with their tubes in them, so she was a bit high maintenance. Amy worked some yesterday too so Abby and Nate got to tag along with us.
Abby didn't have much time for us once she realized that her soccer buddies, Michael and Connor were there too. She played with them all afternoon.

This girl is a beach babe! She loved it! Ate it. Rolled around in it! Dug in it. Sat it in. She was such a character! She brought so much delight to our hearts.

Nate loves playing in the sand and played frisbee with Uncle Ryan in the water. He was pretty good.

These two have been having a great time together lately.

Such a fun day! I really was there, even though there's no photographic evidence of it :)
