abby!

Our sweet Abby girl is having a rough time! She started feeling sick on Sunday and had horrendous stomach cramps among other things for over 24 hours. Amy took her to the doctor on Tuesday because the cramps were unbearable. One x-ray and one ultra sound later they sent Abby to the ER because of fluid in her abdominal cavity. The ER doctors wanted to do a CT Scan of her belly to rule out her appendix, so Abby had to drink that horrible stuff (whatever it's called) and they did the CT Scan and ruled out her appendix. At that point they had to give Abby morphine because she was in such horrible pain. The local ER, where Abby was, decided to transfer her to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and that is where Abby has been since about 1:00am. Abby is actually feeling better. The pain has subsided but the doctors still don't know what's going on. So they are testing this and that and we are praying for some answers. It's probably a TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD VIRUS...but they need to be sure before they let Abby go home! So Abby will remain an inpatient at the hospital tonight (she is NOT in the ICU, just on the regular floor). Please join us in praying for Abby's doctors...that they will figure out what's going on! Please pray for comfort and healing for Abby!!! And pray for Amy and Jake too, who pulled an all nighter last night traveling from one hospital to the next while dealing with a very sick girl!

And I do love it how God works out the little details of our lives even when we don't know what's ahead. Nathan was already having a visit with us when all this happened, so he's been having a grand time with McKenna (and sometimes Christian when he's feeling well enough) and we're just keeping him until things settle down. He just won a game of Chutes and Ladders, so he's happy as a lark!

Judy I will certainly keep everyone in my prayers. You are right, if it's one thing I have learned over the past year it's that God takes care of us with the little details. Keep us posted.

Oh I hate that she is going through that! And Jake and Amy as well. I am praying and waiting to hear she is home free and it was just a virus. There really is a nasty virus going around like wild that causes extreme pain in children so it really might just be and we certainly will pray that is all it is. It is so hard to see your children in pain but at least we know Jesus holds them tighter than we do and cares so deeply for them!
