So what do you think???

Can you tell they're cousins?? I definitely think they resemble one another. And McKenna desperately wants Abby to be her sister. I told her cousins are the next best thing to a sister. I'm thankful for the blessing Emma and Abby have been to my sweet girl this summer.

A Wednesday Recap

Wednesday started off bright & early.

Nate & McKenna played games (much to Christian's great dismay).

My kids, Cousins, and friends....this was the gang I hung out with most of the day.....

plus this cutie.

Lunch. The new Pepperidge Farm Fish bread was a huge hit....no crust :)

Hurt finger.

Three wild guys. And "wild" is a mild adjective to describe their behavior in the pool :)

BFFs

A little piece of the wildness.

Some surfing by Abby! She's amazing! I'll share a video later :)

Then off to our fav. place for dinner.

Topped it off with a little ice cream.

Choc Chip cookie dough & Cookies and Creme

I adore the toothless grin. When I saw it for the first time he said "Now Chrish and I match."

Ended the day with a few fireworks.

A day of great summer memories!

Just like you....

Dear Abby,

Do you see this little girl? Do you see the giggle and the smile on her face when she's around you? She adores you. She looks up to you. She wants to be just like you. She wants to be tall like you. She wants to wear outfits like you. She doesn't want to sit in a booster seat anymore, because you don't use one. She wants to buckle herself, because that's what you do. The potty seat is history around here, because Abby doesn't have one. She picks out her outfits and declares "Abby would love this." She thinks of you every day, all the time.

And that's why I'm so thankful we got to celebrate your born-again birthday with you. I'm so glad that McKenna knows that you love Jesus and that you have Jesus in your heart. Because she wants to be just like you. You do a beautiful job of being patient with your little shadow whenever you visit. I know she just about drives you crazy sometimes, but you are her BEST FRIEND and I can't think of a person who I would rather have her look up to.

Abby, I pray that you will always have that mischievous spark in your eye. That you will always love to play. That you will always be my pink girl :) And that everyone around you will always be able to see the fruit of the spirit in your life! Nothing in life is more important that loving Jesus and showing His love to others, including little 3 year olds.

We can't wait for you to come back and visit again. You definitely add a lot of JOY to McKenna's life when you're here.

Love you,

Auntie Judy

A Surprise Visit

Does anyone even recognize this girl????

What about this one with the missing teeth??

Or this grown up guy???

Back at the beginning of May (whew..I've got some catching up to do) we had a huge surprise for Christian. Grandmom and PopPop were going to go visit Emma, Abby and Nathan and I secretly asked if Christian could tag along. We kept it a secret until the last minute because McKenna would have been heart broken if she had figured out where he was going. The night before we told Christian he would be leaving in the morning to see his cousins and I wish I had it on video. He jumped off the couch and stood there with his mouth open unable to speak. Like he seriously almost couldn't breathe he was so excited!!

The grandparents purpose in visiting was to see Emma's orchestra concert!

She's up there somewhere :)

There's my long lost sister!!! We should start an email petition to make her start blogging again don't you think??

Christian had the best time with his BFF Nathan! They got to spend the whole day together on Friday! Just the boys!

Grandmom got to visit Abby and Emma at their school for Grandparent's Day!
It was so good for Christian to see his cousins. He loves them so much and we can't wait for their next visit!

A rootin' tootin' good time!

Nathan's birthday is actually today ((Happy 5th Birthday precious boy!!! We love you!!)) but we celebrated on Saturday! Being the good aunt that I am, we gave Nathan a pillow pet. It's quiet and cute and soft and every kid in the world loves them. Nathan was excited.
But then the real party started! Grandmom hooked Nate up with an awesome pair of "real" cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.

And cowboy boots and a hat are very cool when you're five.....

but a cap gun makes it even better!

Now that's one cool dude! Look out folks, there's a new sheriff in town!

And lucky me, Aunt Amy didn't want to leave poor Christian out so she bought him a cap gun too! Apparently she had called ahead of time to ask Ryan if it was okay if Christian had a cap gun. Hmm...wonder why no one asked me. I'm not against boys having guns and pretending they're cowboys, but those cap guns actually smoke and come to find out...the pop sound they make is rather loud when you're in the car :) And then you have to buy new caps for them and it really is an emergency when you run out. You must immediately head to the nearest Walmart lest your cowboy have a complete meltdown. Cowboys having meltdowns are not that fun.

Oh yeah. He loved it!
Notice the pillow pet has been forgotten, although later they pretended to shoot it and ride it around like a horse. ha!

It was a great birthday for this precious guy!

Even the girls got in on the action.

Abby's birthday had been earlier in the month so she got to open a present too. We gave her this Tinker Bell that really flys. Oh my word, this is such a fun gift. If you have to buy a gift for a girl age 5-9, this would be perfect. It's unlike anything else she had and it honest to goodness really flies. Tinkerbell spent some time dive-bombing the cowboys in the living room and finally we realized the ceiling just wasn't high enough. So the next morning Tinkerbell got to fly around outside. She went so high she almost got stuck on the roof several times.
I just looked up this toy on Target and guess what...you're in luck...she's on clearance right now (I wish she had been this cheap when I bought her)!!!! Go HERE to check her out. Go ahead and get your Christmas shopping started!!!
