This is huge

Huge people. I mean really, really huge!!!!!

I've spent the last month hearing McKenna say "Don't let go of me" over and over again. She's been in the pool with my dad, my mom and me and she's been tense and nervous the entire time. On Wednesday I let go of her for a minute and she didn't even notice because her puddle jumper life jacket does such a good job of keeping her afloat. So I decided to point out to her the fact that no one was holding her. She hyperventilated for a minute, then started to giggle and now all I hear is "Don't hold me. Let go of me."

I'm smiling! This makes me very, very happy. And now I'm down to just one kid that needs to be held in the pool!

that's awesome! i've seen those alot at the pool and think it's a great invention for kids to get more comfortable. I sort of have the opposite problem - my kids are such water babies that they jump in ALL the time -whether i'm paying attention or not!!! it will make for a much easier summer if she can swim around on her own!

I read the comment you left on Leighann's blog about your sons eyes. Having children with vision problems, I URGE you to get your son to an opthamologist ASAP. Don't go to an optometrist. An opthamologist is a medical doctor who specializes in eyes...this is who you want to see. Some even specialize in children. Your son appears to have a vision problem that should be looked at.

Thanks Anonymous! I emailed back and forth with Leighann today and I've got an appt. with a pediatric opthamologist on Thursday. I'm so glad they just had someone cancel so I can get in soon. I'm going to have to drive an hour and a half to get there, but it will be worth it!
