A few lessons learned today:

1. Crying to get out of a speeding ticket only works when you're in your 20's, skinny and blonde. It doesn't turn out nearly as well with you're a 33 year old mom with carseats in the back seat. You'll just get a lecure about how you should be more careful when your kids are in the car. Got it! Lesson learned.

2. If there's an accident and the highway is shut down and you sit at a stand still for 35 minutes straight and your baby is screaming and you're going to be impossibly late for an appointment with a specialist that will take months to reschedule, just call them. They might be nice and tell you it's not a big deal that you're going to completely miss your appointment time. Just don't speed (see lesson #1).

3. When your six year old comments about how you're driving as fast as Lightning McQueen, take a hint (see lesson #1 &#2).

4. The fine (+ the extra $100 worth of fees) isn't nearly as bad as the points. Oh dear!

Oh no...I'm so sorry! I had that happen to me last year (complete with 4 points). My girls still tell me to slow down so the police don't get us and take our money. Unfortunately, they have not forgotten that little incident! Oh yeah...and I cried, too. No luck for me, either! Such a bummer...I'm sorry it was a stressful day!

Oh goodness...I actually got pulled over yesterday! I haven't gotten a ticket or pulled in YEARS...but I didn't get the ticket (not because I'm blonde or skinny or in my 20's--because I'm none of those things) probably because he couldn't really prove it. I ran a "yield" sign...seriously, who pulls someone over for that?

Anyway...so sorry to hear of the $$ and points accrued. Not fun.

Oh Judy. That's awful. I'm so sorry. maybe you can take an online class or something to get a reduction in fees or points. That stinks!

I'm sorry you had such a rough day. If it helps, Marcus said he totally would have given you a warning.

I'm sorry about the ticket. But the Lightning McQueen comment made me laugh. Anna
