A Myrtle Beach Recap

We made a last minute decision to take a beach vacation this year. Ryan really needed some down time after having a rough few months at work so we decided to make a vacation a priority. As you already know it turned into a nightmare, but we did have some sweet moments too.
Christian & McKenna are highly worried about the fact that Will is sitting in a "girl" car seat, but he doesn't seem to mind! I could get a new cover but that seems like a ridiculous waste of money when this cover is perfectly fine.
My sweet boys hanging out on our 9 hour car ride.
Myrtle Beach!!!! We were so excited to finally get there. Unfortunately, our first condo we stayed in had roaches. I'm not even kidding. Okay, so we actually just saw one roach and Ryan tried to reassure me that the south just has roaches sometimes. I was not buying it and I spent our first day there repacking our stuff, getting a refund on our condo (yes..I pitched a fit about the roach) and trying to find a new place to stay. We rented the first condo from one of those "rent by owner" sites. That worked out great for us last year when we went to Florida, but the lesson learned is that it might not always work out great. It's a gamble.
 Look at that wave!
Good times!

Christian absolutely loves being at the beach!
 She does too.
Will hated it! He was terrified of the waves. Cried every time he was near them. I was so disappointed.
Both of the places we stayed had fun pools to play in.

Christian has learned to handle the ocean so well. I'm amazed at how brave he is.
Thank God we found another condo!!!! I had to call a lot of places and thankfully the Compass Cove Resort had a cancellation and we were able to get a great room. It was smaller than the first one but still had an ocean view and it had 23 different pool features.
McKenna's favorite was the "yellow submarine" pool. This is actually the only pool we could convince Will to get in. He was pretty much not impressed with anything on this vacation.
There were water slides, lazy rivers, hot tubs, regular pools, baby pools, etc. Lots of fun.
Will just wanted to run around the pool he didn't want to get in the pool. It took me two days to convince him to get in a pool without screaming.
Christian had a great time in the waves.
He and Ryan spent a lot of the time on the beach. I, on the other hand, spent about 10 minutes on the beach taking these pictures and then that was it.
And then it was time to go. Lots of tears were shed on this morning. They were not ready to leave and kept asking me why we had to (clearly they did not understand the seriousness of the situation).

McKenna keeps asking me how many more sleeps until we go back. Sorry sweet...it's going to be a long, long time. Two bad vacations in a row means we're sticking very close to home for awhile.
