Read those first 4 words..... "I sought the Lord."   We always want answers from God. We want quick easy answers. We are used to immediate gratification...drive thru meals handed to us in just a few minutes...movies available on demand, swipe your debit card and it's paid for, etc. But the word "sought" implies that we should be seeking and pursuing God.

There are many instances in the Bible where God did not "move" or answer the prayers of an individual or a group of people until they had sought the Lord for an extended period of time. 

Sometimes I think God wants us to show him that we mean business when we're petitioning him about something. I would just encourage you to ask the Lord to teach you how to pray. Ask him to give you a desire to seek him and be disciplined about doing it.
