The things people say...

I took the kids out to eat tonight to celebrate Christian's awesome report card. There was a tiny little girl walking around and I asked her mom how old she was. Her mom said that she was 11 months old but that she had been walking from the time she was 10 months old. And I told her Will wasn't quite walking on his own yet, but that he was close. And then she said, "Well, I'm a stay at home mom, so that's probably why my child is so advanced."
Ummm...what???
For the record, I didn't respond.

Wow! Stuff like that always make me wonder though, what kind of things I've said to other people. Way to go, keeping your mouth shut! Anna :-)

Good for you Judy! Although the lady's comment came across very poorly, it was a Christlike spirit that led you to just accept it and not respond unkindly. I often wonder how often I say things that come across in a manner that I did not intend for it to. I am grateful for the times that people showed me grace and did not respond with unkind words. You and your kids are perfect just the way you are because God made you that way. Have a great day!

Wow! I'm glad you didn't say anything, but I can tell you that as a part-time work outside the home mom, that comment would have really felt offensive to me. Let's hope she just didn't mean it that way, but good for you!
