If you have young kids, you have got to read
this article. I promise, it will only take 2 minutes!! So worth it!! It's about teaching your kids about sexual purity when they are young. It is shocking to me how many parents think it's cute when their 3 year old has a "boyfriend" or their 2nd grader has a "girlfriend." In my opinion it's totally inappropriate and it is most definitely teaching them the wrong thing about relationships. Okay, I'll climb off my soapbox now :)

Our small group just finished "Six Ways to Keep the Little in Your Girl," and it was all about this subject. It was a good book (and your point is a good one)!
Great article! Thanks. Anna :)
I am getting ready to read the article..thanks for posting. We TOTALLY agree with you on how crazy it is for people to laugh and joke about boyfriends/girlfriends at such an early age. I have found myself saying things like that in reference to Maryn and some of my friends little boys...like oh let's arrange a marriage now or something like that. I know she doesn't understand it and it is innocent on my behalf..but I don't want to go into her preschool and school years talking about boys in that respect. We have a hard enough job later on to help them through this journey of the opposite sex and their bodies without encouraging it so early. Anyway...I'm with you on it all. And I am committed to nipping this talk in the bud when people start making references to it...I will have no shame in saying something to protect her innocence. I worked hard all those years keeping my sexual purity and I will work hard for her's too. OK...ha, now for me to get off my soapbox too. We can stand together on our soapboxes, Judy! :) The book that your friend Holly mentioned above sounds interesting...I'll have to add that to my reading list. Love ya.
I remember when Cait was in elementary school, a boy from her class called her at home. I told him she was not able to have boys to call her at home since she was too young. You really have to start early...and be consistent. And I will admit...the "Purity Retreat" that our church hosted was instrumental in our daughter's life...Thank you AMY WISE!!!
Praising the Lord for my daughter's wise choices in relationships!
