Help - I MESSED UP

Isn't this a gorgeous picture?!! My friend Lori took this picture at one of the battlefields close to our home! This picture has been entered in a contest and quite frankly it's definitely the best picture in the bunch. Well, I did something stupid and went to vote for her picture and clicked on the wrong thing and I gave her a horrible rating! Lori - I'M SO SORRY! So everyone, all of you, I mean it...have to go and vote for her photo. Please make up for what I did! And pay attention when you vote and click on the set of stars on the right hand side of the page. Really it's not confusing at all, I was just distracted and goofed up! You don't have to sign in or set up a silly account or anything. Just click this link and vote!!

Let us know if you win Lori! And once again, just so you know I really mean it....I'M SORRY!

I LOVE Monday Mornings

I know most people don't....but Abby and Nate are so excited to see Christian and McKenna. No one is sick of each other yet. They all spend the morning playing (with no fighting) together. They get all sappy about how they've missed each other and hug and kiss like they haven't seen each other in years. And there is peace and laughter in my house for at least the first part of the day! Absolute wildness reins downstairs right now. The treadmill is a boat and they're rescuing people. Then they're apparently going to have a birthday party for Abby (no- it's not her birthday. not even close). It's fun! Hope you're having a fun day!

11 Months Old Already

Today McKenna turns 11 months old and I'll admit, I'm having a hard time with this one. Pretty soon she's going to be a year old and I'm finding that I wish I could just freeze her and make time stand still RIGHT NOW. I love this age. It's so fun to see her learning and discovering the world around her. She is delightful. She pats my back and gives me big, wet, open mouthed kisses. I love it and Ryan is totally jealous because he doesn't get this kind of loving from her. Just me :)

McKenna has three teeth, all on the bottom, right now. She is not too interested in table food and still loves her baby food bananas and sweet potatoes.

She's been overcoming her texture issues and will now eat crackers and other crunchy treats.

McKenna loves books. She reads books everyday. She likes to be read to, but she also loves to explore books on her own. By the looks of this picture (above) I think she just might be a teacher. All she needs are a few little kids sitting at her feet and she'd be all set.

McKenna's other favorite things are babies! She loves to talk to her babies and give them kisses. It's so funny how she's such a girly girl at such a young age! And she loves her pink chair. She sits in it all the time!

McKenna thinks Christian is the funniest thing that God ever created. He makes her laugh all the time. It's so fun to see them and hear them playing together! And Christian adores her. He is constantly commenting about how cute she is and how he loves her tiny hands and how it's okay if she rips his book (hmm..I'm not okay with that, but he is, just because it's her).

A few more McKenna stats:

*Weighs 21 lbs 4 oz

*Rolls all over the place and does a strange maneuver that sort of resembles a crawl, but not really. She can get wherever she wants in any manor of different ways.

* Says "Mama," "Dada," "Dad," "Bubu," and "This." I have to explain the "this" word because it's hysterical. She points at things and says "this." That's her way of asking for whatever she's pointing at. I think she started saying "this" because I'm always asking her; "Do you want THIS? Why don't you eat THIS." etc. McKenna has also said something that sounded an awful lot like Chrish and she has clearly said "Abby" although it's not consistent.

*McKenna is a horrible sleeper. I never know if she's going to sleep through the night or be up seven times. It just depends on if she has an ear infection or if she's getting a tooth. You never know and it's maddening!!

*McKenna loves music and loves to sing. As soon as she hears music or even just Christian singing she starts to bounce up and down. If she sees one of us singing she starts singing "dada" at the top of her lungs.

*McKenna is starting to get a little feisty. She throws her food on the floor and screams if she doesn't want to be in her high chair. She squirms the entire time she's getting a diaper change and if she doesn't want to go to sleep she throws her binkie across the room. And to top it off, she laughs whenever I tell her "no."

"In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."- Job 12:10

McKenna, We continually thank God for the gift of your life! You have brought a JOY to our hearts that could have never dreamed existed. You are our DELIGHT. You fill our home with LOVE and HAPPINESS every day. Your laughter, smiles, snuggles and wet kisses melt our hearts!

We love you so much,

Mommy, Daddy and Christian

We've got some serious train track going on in our house today. The TV hasn't even been turned on! I love that!

Oh Emma!

Emma was checking out the blog today and was very disappointed that I didn't mention two things in that post about the snowflake cookies. In her own words:
1. "I love, love, love the Patriots." (So sad how she's being brainwashed at such a young age ;)
2. "My hair is in "braids" because my shirt says 'Brady.' Get it? Braids for Brady?"
---------------------------------------------------
Okay, back to me. This is too cute not to share, but you have to promise not to EVER mention it to Emma. She'll NEVER forgive me for this!
-
Emma came home from school yesterday all excited because a boy in her class told her that she sounds like Taylor Swift when she sings. I think she's in LOVE now!

Can you see it?

Look carefully! McKenna started working on tooth #3 on December 23rd and it's been a long and painful process for both of us.
It's on the bottom left in this picture. We have had MANY sleepless nights and LOTS of fussing and crying over this tooth. Fevers and doctor visits can also be attributed to this tooth. And we're only on tooth #3.
Christian did not have teething issues like this. So any teething advice any of you have would be greatly appreciated. Let's just hope not all of her teeth cause these issues!
-------------------------------------------------------
I love these pictures because McKenna is actually smiling at herself in all of them. I turned the LCD screen on my camera around so she could see herself and she got quite a kick out of that. She loves to see herself in the mirror or in the glass on the sliding glass door by her high chair.

When wishing for snow...make snow cookies

Blue icing, snowflake sprinkles, some cookies that ended up resembling biscuits and a crew wishing for snow made for a fun afternoon. We're supposed to get some precipitation tonight but I think it's going to be sleet and freezing rain instead of snow. So since we were wishing for snow we decided to make snow cookies. Messy, cute, tasty and fun!

Are you Ready for some Football?

Ryan and McKenna spent some time watching football on Sunday.
That is until she just couldn't take it anymore!
Like mother, like daughter! I can't stand football! If she could talk she would have been crying "Give me some Mickey Mouse!"
