Cell Phone Dump

Here's a round up of a bunch of cell phone pictures I just downloaded onto my computer.
This is what Christian does every night while he's waiting for me to come pray for him at bedtime. He sits there and studies his baseball cards. The other night we were watching a ball game and Christian kept pointing out players that he knew because he had their baseball card. Crazy that he can remember this stuff.
Okay, I'm a dork. But this is the picture I texted my husband when I got 30 gallons of gas. See how much I paid for 30 gallons??? And some people say "couponing" is too much work. Well, it's worth it to me!
We have to visit this section of the store every time Christian goes to Target or Walmart. He literally stands there for 15 minutes debating which pack would be the best one to get. I'm not sure what all the debate is about since you don't know what's inside any of the packs, but he debates it none the less.
She wanted Daddy to see how tall she is.
"Mom, lets take a picture of this so everyone can see what I want for Christmas."
This boy is always, always working the system.
McKenna. She wanted me to send this picture to Emma ;)
Nice to meet you.

Not a great picture...but Will's finger was really starting to look good. It looks great now.
This is what McKenna thought we should buy Grampy for his birthday.
Will literally pushes that car around our yard for hours ...
and gets in and out and in and out of it over and over and over again.

A boy & his horse

As soon as we say, "Oh look Shadow is out" Will runs for the fence and then he tries to go under it, so he can go visit his friend.

I think Shadow is pretty interested in him too. Here he comes!
He has no fear and loves his buddy Shadow.

Pray for Christian...updated

Update:
Christian was still sick this morning. I gave him some Zofran, went to church, taught Sunday School and was planning on coming home and taking him to the ER. But I came home and he was eating a piece of toast.  I think sometimes he just needs a dose of Zofran to snap his body out of it. As if his brain needs a reminder that 30 hours of vomiting is plenty and it's time to cut it out. I'm sure having a classroom full of 4th & 5th graders praying for him didn't hurt either.
He was so sick. He lost 4 lbs in 30 hours. It usually takes him a couple days to recover, but I'm planning on having him go to school tomorrow.
Thanks for your prayers.

Will had a stomach bug earlier this week.
He threw up once.

McKenna started with a fever this morning.
She's now throw up twice.

Christian is always the wild card with stomach stuff.
He just suffers terribly.
He started with a fever last night in the middle of the night
and so far he's probably throw up at least 15 times.
We are trying out best to avoid an ER visit.
Please, please pray for him as you head to bed tonight that
he will have a good night and wake up feeling great.

Disobedience

I have a chronic disobey-er in my house. Do you have one?? I'm convinced that every family has one, but maybe that's just me trying to make myself feel better!

Anywho... I read this one line several days ago. It has stuck with me and I've been rolling it around in my brain for awhile now.

"When your children disobey remember that you disobey the Lord all the time, and he's the PERFECT parent."

Whew...I'm far from perfect no wonder my kids disobey me all the time :)

The Bible says that the Lord's kindness leads to repentance.
I think I need to show my kids more kindness when they disobey.
That doesn't mean letting them off the hook...it just means showing them grace.

He Can't Catch a Break

So Will's "well" visit revealed yesterday that he has scarlet fever/strep throat.
I didn't see that one coming, but it explains the random sandpaper-ish rash he's had.
Poor baby. I feel like the worst mom ever...but he didn't have a fever and seemed pretty pleasant.
He is just the sweetest little boy ever ...unless you're trying to give him an antibiotic :)

P.S. You can barely see it in this picture..but we don't even have a bandaid on his finger anymore! WooHoo!!

Baseball boys

Christian & Grampy got to play some baseball.
Christian just about drove his grandfather crazy asking him to play baseball with him every 5 minutes. But Grampy was a great sport about it.
I LOVE this picture!!!! Do you see the look on Christian's face when he caught that ball?!

Will and Grammy were the spectators!

Weekend with Grammy & Grampy

Ryan's parents came to visit this past weekend.
We were all so thrilled to see them.
The weather was not great. It's been extremely humid, rainy & hot. So we spent a lot of time inside playing "baseball."
Grampy & Grammy were good sports about playing this game for hours.
 Will loves his Grampy.
And McKenna loved having Grammy around.

We did get to celebrate Grampy's birthday.
We made our traditional trip to Cracker barrel.
Christian has always wanted one of those weasels that's attached to a ball and rolls around.
Well, thanks to Grammy & Grampy he finally owns one.
He pretends it's his pet and McKenna even has to babysit it when he goes to school.
McKenna got a light up butterfly wand that is also a night light.
It makes her think of her grandparents every night when she goes to bed.
Christian can play checkers for real now, but McKenna doesn't really have a clue what she's doing, although she won this game thanks to a little help from me :)
Christian thinks we need this on our front porch.
Ryan enjoyed catching up with his parents.
We are all looking forward to our trip out to the farm for Thanksgiving.
Three generations.

A Back to School Challenge

There are 3 times through out the year that I think are great times to start something new or get into a new routine with your kids. Obviously New Years is the time we all think of to start fresh. But when you have kids the end of the school year marks another time of transition for them and the beginning of the school year to also a good time to reevaluate what you're doing in your home and set some goals and stick to them.

So let's talk about this "back to school" season of our lives.
I have a challenge for all of you moms with kids of ANY age!!!

Challenge #1: The Mommy Challenge..... Pray at least one scripture for each of your kids each day!
I've talked about Isaiah 55:10&11 before and how it talks about how when God's word is spoken God says "it will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Praying scripture for your kids is a way of tapping into God's power. So praying God's word for your kids is powerful and effective!

Go HERE to print out some cards with scriptures on them that you could pray throughout the day for your kiddos. These verses are just a starting point. My favorite scriptures to pray for my kids and the ones that I pray every day are:

Romans 12:2
" Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
I say; "Dear Jesus, Help McKenna not to conform to the pattern of this word, but may she be transformed by the renewing of her mind. Help her to test and approve what your will is."

Colossians 3:2
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
I say; "Jesus, Help Christian to set his mind on things above today, not on earthly things."

Psalm 89:1
"I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations."
I say; "Dear Lord, let William sing of your great love forever. Let him make known your faithfulness through all generations."

I'll talk about Challenge #2 in a couple of days!!
