Best Buddies

I adore this picture!! Their faces say it all!!! These two are the best of friends!!! If you've been a blog reader of mine for any length of time, you might remember when they DID NOT get along. Okay, so they were 2 and 3 at the time. Thank God they grew out of that and now enjoy every minute they have together!
There's Nate enjoying some fun at the lake.

And this year it's hard to get Christian to come out of the water.

They were easy to keep track of with their blue floaties and goggles.

It's such a treat for Christian to have special time with Nathan.

We are counting down the days until these 2 can be together again!

A rootin' tootin' good time!

Nathan's birthday is actually today ((Happy 5th Birthday precious boy!!! We love you!!)) but we celebrated on Saturday! Being the good aunt that I am, we gave Nathan a pillow pet. It's quiet and cute and soft and every kid in the world loves them. Nathan was excited.
But then the real party started! Grandmom hooked Nate up with an awesome pair of "real" cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.

And cowboy boots and a hat are very cool when you're five.....

but a cap gun makes it even better!

Now that's one cool dude! Look out folks, there's a new sheriff in town!

And lucky me, Aunt Amy didn't want to leave poor Christian out so she bought him a cap gun too! Apparently she had called ahead of time to ask Ryan if it was okay if Christian had a cap gun. Hmm...wonder why no one asked me. I'm not against boys having guns and pretending they're cowboys, but those cap guns actually smoke and come to find out...the pop sound they make is rather loud when you're in the car :) And then you have to buy new caps for them and it really is an emergency when you run out. You must immediately head to the nearest Walmart lest your cowboy have a complete meltdown. Cowboys having meltdowns are not that fun.

Oh yeah. He loved it!
Notice the pillow pet has been forgotten, although later they pretended to shoot it and ride it around like a horse. ha!

It was a great birthday for this precious guy!

Even the girls got in on the action.

Abby's birthday had been earlier in the month so she got to open a present too. We gave her this Tinker Bell that really flys. Oh my word, this is such a fun gift. If you have to buy a gift for a girl age 5-9, this would be perfect. It's unlike anything else she had and it honest to goodness really flies. Tinkerbell spent some time dive-bombing the cowboys in the living room and finally we realized the ceiling just wasn't high enough. So the next morning Tinkerbell got to fly around outside. She went so high she almost got stuck on the roof several times.
I just looked up this toy on Target and guess what...you're in luck...she's on clearance right now (I wish she had been this cheap when I bought her)!!!! Go HERE to check her out. Go ahead and get your Christmas shopping started!!!

McKenna misses Nate!

He's such a sweet friend (except when he says "told ya" which bugged Christian to pieces).
He's the perfect playmate for McKenna. And they spent lots of time together since Chrish was sick. She LOVED playing with him. I think he might have gotten tired of hearing "ATe...I need you." McKenna would call him over and over again and he always went running to find her.

He wanted a picture with McKenna, but she's too fast and not much of a picture girl!
We miss you Nathan buddy!!
Can't wait until you come to visit us again.

Happy Monday :)

Christian's HAPPY that it's Monday!
Abby was so excited to get a letter from her Great Grammy Crawley this morning! Grammy, she may not see you that much but she knows exactly who you are and she knows you LOVE her!

McKenna must be feeling better! She discovered toilet paper this morning! It doesn't matter how many times I remind this crew to keep the bathroom door shut, it never happens and McKenna LOVES the bathroom :) At least the toilet seat was closed!

And this is an example of how we pass our germs around! There's a lot of love in this family!

And Nate's just excited that it's Movie Time Monday on the Disney Channel today. This boy is so easy! He loves his TV and his shirt like PopPop's!

Happy Monday! Hope you have a good one!

Nate's FIRST Dentist Visit

See Nate's middle tooth on the left? Well, it's turning a little gray. None of us have any idea when he fell on it, so we'll just blame it on daycare :) So today Nate got to go to the dentist to have it looked at. I can only think of one word to describe our visit: DRAMA!!!!!
This is Nate's attempt at hiding under the dental chair. They needed to get an x-ray of the tooth and he WOULD NOT COOPERATE! He bit me and the dentist and the hygienist. I ended up holding him on my lap in the chair with that lead blanket over both of us and we were completely unsuccessful in getting a decent x-ray. So they referred us to a pediatric dentist.
Then we headed over to Abby's hygienist who is like the kindergarten teacher of hygienists. She gave Abby a glove to blow up and be silly with (and her gloves even smell like grape)! She put Diego on the TV monitor in her office. And she thought it was ridiculous that they had referred Nate to another dentist. So we tried again and 25 minutes later we had the x-ray we needed. Just to humor you I'll tell you that I've never been bitten so hard in my entire life, there were four hygienists involved, over 25 minutes of bribes, tricks, sweet talking and distractions and he pretty much almost threw up. Can you imagine what he'll be like if he ever gets a cavity? Heaven help us!!! I hate it that his first dentist experience was that bad. I hope he's not scared for life.
In the end we found out that the tooth either has to go (sounds fun doesn't it??) or he needs a root canal. Thankfully they'll give him a little "happy juice" and he shouldn't remember a thing, but I informed Amy that his next visit will not involve Auntie Judy. We arrived at the office at 9:30am and didn't leave until 11:45. Good grief!
Nate would not smile for a picture but he was rather interested in his new Sponge Bob toothbrush. I think he was shocked that I let him have it since we don't watch Sponge Bob in our house! So in the end he was thrilled that he got to take home a little contraband! And he's never been so happy to get in the car and head home.

The Boys

I think Christian might have to take a blogging break! He absolutely hates it when I take his picture. Although I do like this one of his sweet little hands.
I wanted to get a picture of the boys in their matching shirts yesterday. Mr. Easy Going-Nathan was more than happy to comply. Mr. I'm Going to Cry at the Top of My Lungs - Christian, decided to make us all miserable in the process.

I finally ended up with this shot, which I think is cute!

And then the silliness began. Christian doesn't mind getting his picture taken if his tongue is somewhere outside of his mouth.
