"Aborable"

I simply adore kindergarten work. I just love the pictures McKenna draws and the way she spells words. She is such a good student! On this assignment she had to use the word "adorable" in a sentence. I love that she wrote about her brother being adorable!

William at Work

On Friday mornings I always take Will to work with me! Clearly I get a lot done!

Giant icicle!

It was five degrees outside & we had this giant icicle hanging from our rain spout. Christian wondered aloud if it was bigger than Will.
I think he was a little surprised when I hauled the ladder out of the garge & retrieved the icicle from the roof.
McKenna was pretty thrilled with the giant icicle!
She's a crazy girl!
Even though it was big...Will was still bigger!

Report Card Time!

McKenna was so sweet sharing her report card and writing pieces with her Daddy! We are so proud of her and all her hard work in Kindergarten this year.

Snow Days....Lots of them!

Oh boy we've had some crazy winter weather this year!

Christian & McKenna built a snowman right outside the window so Will could see it!

Then they started working on their snow fort.

Daddy helped a little and pretty soon they had an awesome fort!

They are super proud of their couch!

We might end up going to school in July but we're going to have fun in the meantime!!

Healing

After Will's finger accident in August of 2012, he was scared of everything. It was a traumatic event for him and then he spent the next 6 weeks having doctors purposefully hurt him every time he saw them (they got his finger to regenerate by ripping off the scabbing... It was the worst thing ever to have to put him through). As a result Will screams at every doctor visit. Haircuts are impossible. We have no idea how much he weighs because he terrified of standing on a scale. He freaks out in elevators or when something moves. He won't try anything new.

His first reaction is always fear.....until lately.

Will got a four wheeler for Christmas. He was so excited when he opened it & immediately told me he would push if. He wanted to like it but as soon as it moved with him on it I could see the terror on his face.
But it only lasted for a moment & my brave boy was soon speeding around the house at 2mph! It now his most favorite toy ever.
Today we went to a bounce house festival. He refused to go in any if the inflatables when we first got there. He just watched. Finally we found an almost empty bounce house, so he decided to go in with his Sissy.
I watched his face for a moment as he stood there and realized that the floor was moving even though he wasn't moving. It was that familiar look of fear, but then it was over and he started jumping around like crazy.
The real shock came when Will saw this bear. He held his hand up so the bear would give him a high-five. Then he said "Mommy, take a picture." I cannot even believe that he wasn't scared if the bear.

Victory!

"God has not given us a spirit of fear..."

I think Will's little mind and his memory are healing and he's starting to realize that the world is a safe place again!

Polar Express Day

Every now and then this is the smile McKenna gives me. It's her "morning smile," the one she uses when she really is happy but she's still sleepy.
McKenna got to have pj day at school, so I gave her her Christmas Eve pjs early! Are to they cute?! McKenna was a little disappointed that a real train didn't come to her school, but she had fun anyway!

Exhibit B of her "morning smile."

Christmas Sing A-Long at the Primary School

Every year the primary school has a sing-a-long. Christian never wanted me to go, but this year there's a new girl in town and she couldn't wait for me to come to she "show."

It's not really a show at all & parents aren't actually invited, but McKennas teacher let me come!

She did a great job singing Jingle Bells!
Christian told me he wasn't going to sing if I came to the program. He got over it And actually acted like he was happy to see me!
Merry Christmas!
