Attention all you Local Friends

As most of you know, my parents are moving into a new house.

My mom doesn't like the style of this ceiling fan, so it's up for grabs. It works great. It's kind-of an off-white color. It's rather fancy looking when it's hung from the ceiling. It would be good in a girls room, master bed room or a living room. They're giving it away for FREE! You just have to come get it. And this is a working gas fireplace! The wood is an oak color. The surround looks like fake marble. I don't have the dimensions off hand but I can find out if you're interested. It's very deep. My guess would be that it's 3-4 feet deep. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the gas fireplace, my mom just doesn't like gas. Leave a comment or email me if you're interested. I'm going to list it on Craigslist in a day or too, so let me know ASAP if you want it. They are asking $400 or OBO. We could probably arrange to have this delivered if you didn't have a way to get it home.

Happy Birthday Hannah and Elizabeth!! We love you and miss seeing you! Of course, Auntie Judy has your birthday present sitting right here on the dining room table. It's waiting to be wrapped. So you're just going to get to celebrate your birthday for an extra day, whenever our package arrives! We love you girls and are so proud of all the hard work you've done this year in Kindergarten!

Yard Sales oh how I love Thee!

I love yard sales! I mean I seriously do! My neighbors are having a yard sale today and I thought it would be a good way for me to actually meet them. So I headed over and those people were selling all their kids clothes for $0.50 each and some items still had tags on them and most of the stuff was GAP or Children's Place. Oh my word, I went a little crazy. But McKenna is now set with shirts for the summer and fall and I got the most adorable winter coat with matching snow pants from LL Bean for just $2.00! Abby is now going to have a pair of Heelies that are practically brand new for $2.00. Don't those things usually cost $40??? I don't mind buying stuff for Abby because it usually comes back to me in about a year :) And best of all, my kids are currently sitting peacefully in the playroom watching a new DVD. Ahhh, yes..nothing like a new movie to keep the peace.

So heads up to all you local people. Head over to my neighborhood if you need boy clothes (super cheap) for up to size 3T. Or girl clothes pretty much any size up to size 7-8. Sorry, but I wiped out most of the 3T girls shirts and some 4T winter shirts too. But there's still tons of pants left in those sizes b/c McKenna is still a size 24 months in pants.

Happy New Home

Congrats to my mom and dad on the purchase of their new home.

It's going to be great (I keep telling them that).

They are dealing with all the exhausting stuff right now.

Cleaning, fixing, painting, repairing....

But all you have to do is look out any of the front windows and you can see why they bought it.

The mountain views are literally breath taking.

It's gorgeous.

I'm sure we'll be spending lots of time there this summer, once all the work is done.

But enough about all that....I'm off to spend the afternoon painting!

First of all a few pictures....because I haven't been posting many lately!

I've been a bad blogger lately.

I've been an even worse blog friend.

I've barely left a comment on anyone's blog in the past two weeks.

I'm going to catch up...at least on the reading at some point.

Things have just been busy around here.

What else is new, right?

The big news is that my parents have closed on their house and now they're busy fixing it up before they move in.

So I've been helping them paint.

I'm going to be doing that this next week too.

I need to take some pictures at some point.

It's looking good.

And then there's the yard work.

Boy oh boy am I tired.

We wanted a big yard, but sheeesh!

Lots of work.

So that's it.

I'll get back on the blogging bandwagon at some point.

My Princess

McKenna surprises me every day! The other day she pointed to the TNT Fireworks logo on my shirt and said "Daddy's work?" Oh my word, how on earth did she know that. And another day last week a friend of ours was babysitting McKenna. Ryan had given them some fireworks and when McKenna saw them in their garage she said, "That's my daddy's." Now just to give you a little perspective....we don't have any fireworks at our house. None. I have no idea how she knows daddy has anything to do with fireworks, unless she remembered from last summer, which I guess she must.

She loves to put puzzles together and read books. Unfortunately she's also at the age where she destroys books. I learned the hard way not to let her have a flap book in her bed with her when she takes a nap. By the end of nap time the book will no longer have any flaps.

McKenna is 26 months old and weighs 26 lbs.
She still takes a decent nap every afternoon.
She likes to stay up late with Mommy and Daddy.
Her new favorite obsession are her babies.
She has two babies; Reagan (named after a baby friend she knows) and Sara.
She loves to take care of Reagan and Sara.
Many times I find myself searching the house for one of them before we go somewhere.
She loves to have them in the car with her.
McKenna is quite the little singer.
She sings ALL THE TIME!!
Her new favorite thing is putting on "shows."
A "show" is when she stands on the hearth of the fireplace (her stage) and sings for us.
Then she tells us to clap!
Her favorite song continues to be "Jesus loves me" but sometimes we also get to hear:

McKenna has all the men in our family wrapped around her little finger.
Her daddy and her PopPop are totally smitten.
Of course they are....
she always runs up to them and says "Much You" as she hugs their leg!

I had a hard time figuring out what the name McKenna meant when we were picking out baby names. Most baby name sources say the name McKenna means "ascend" or "son of Kenneth." But this one source said that McKenna means "happiness" and that's the meaning I'm claiming for my McKenna! It fits her!

The Potato Chip Field Trip

I got to hang out with these handsome men the other day!

We went on a field trip to learn how potato chips are made.
And we got to wear these very cool hats as we toured the factory.
Christian made sure that we brought them home with us so that Daddy and PopPop could try one on.

It really was an awesome tour. Lot of interesting things to see and lots of great information.

Did you know that it takes 4 lbs of potatoes to make just 1 lb of potato chips??

It was a really fun morning. I love spending time with my boy!

And Christian was pretty thrilled that we got to take home a bag of goodies!
